Is It Possible To Recover Unsaved Live Stream Video On Instagram, YouTube, & Facebook?
Yes, it is quite possible to recover lost or unsaved live streams. In most cases the live stream videos are not instantly published to your profile rather they are saved in the archive. So if you can’t see the live stream video on your profile once it’s over then don’t worry. The video is not lost, you can still restore it.
In the following part of the article, I will be sharing with you some methods to recover the deleted live videos. So let’s start.
How To Recover Deleted Instagram Live Video?
A live session video is saved in the archive folder for 30 days time period. If you happen to record a live session recently then your video will be in the archive folder. This means you can easily restore it without any issues. However, once the 30-day time period is over, you can’t recover the live video on Instagram.
If you want to recover the Instagram live video from the archive folder then you can follow these steps:
- Launch the Instagram app on your phone. Go to your Instagram Profile from the profile icon at the bottom right side of your screen.
- Now tap on the hamburger icon at the top right corner.
- As you do that some options will pop up on the screen, tap on Archive. This will load the Stories archive page. Switch to the Live archive option by tapping on the drop-down icon next to the Stories archive at the top left corner.
- Under the Live archive folder, you will see the live video that you created on Instagram in the past 30 days. From here you can either download the videos on your device or you can directly publish them to your IGTV. The downloaded video will be stored in your phone’s Gallery under the Instagram folder. You can easily access it from there if you want.
In case the video is deleted from your phone then you can make use of a data recovery app to recover the deleted Live stream. There are lots of apps available online that can help you recover a deleted video file from your phone’s internal storage.
How Do I Recover Deleted Live Stream On YouTube?
I have already covered an article on how to recover a deleted YouTube video. You must check it out if your live stream video is deleted after publishing it. In case you didn’t save the video then don’t worry I will tell you how to recover an unsaved video on YouTube.
If the duration of the live stream video is less than 12 hours then the video will be automatically stored in the YouTube archive. YouTube does not archive videos longer than 12 hours. This applies to all types of YouTube live streams i.e. webcam, mobile, and more.
Even though the length of your YouTube live stream is less than 12 hours, still you might not be able to see the video on your channel. The reason it happens is that YouTube may take some time to finish processing. Depending on the size of the video it may take up to 24 hours. So don’t worry your Live stream is not deleted, you can find it under the Past Live Stream section of your account settings.
Once the video is finished processing it will show on your channel. So you don’t have to do anything special to recover the deleted YouTube Live stream as long as you have not manually deleted the live video because then you can’t recover it.
How To Recover Deleted Live Stream Video On Facebook?
Facebook asks you whether you want to post your live stream to your profile once the live stream is over. If you chose to delete the video instead of publishing it then the video will get deleted instantly and you cannot recover it.
However, if you happen to post the video to your profile and it got missing from there then it may be due to some technical glitch or Facebook has removed it themselves. You can contact customer support to ask if they can help you recover the deleted live stream on Facebook.
Final Verdict: How Do I Recover Deleted Live Stream?
All video streaming platforms be it YouTube, Facebook or Instagram allow you to either post the video to your timeline or archive it automatically. As a result, you can publish it or delete it later if you want. If you have not manually deleted the video after the live stream ends then don’t worry about your video, it is safe.
You can recover a live video on Facebook, Instagram, and YouTube from the Archive as I have discussed above. In case the live video disappears after publishing it then you can contact customer support for help. However, if you chose to discard the video instead of archiving or publishing it to your profile then the video is gone for good and it can’t be recovered.
